Petersen Hastings Launches Backpack Drive to Support Local Students
At Petersen Hastings, we believe in investing where it really counts – and that includes supporting the next generation as they prepare for a new school year. We’re excited to announce our Back-to-School Backpack Drive, running from July 21 through August 15, to benefit students in need across the Columbia Basin and Walla Walla Valley regions.
Why a Backpack Drive?
For many local families, the rising cost of school supplies can make it difficult to send their children back to school fully prepared. A simple backpack can make a world of difference for a student’s confidence and academic success.
Our goal is to provide new, unused backpacks to students who may otherwise go without. By offering a small but essential piece of their school toolkit, we hope to give these students a stronger start to the year and remind them that their community is behind them.
How the Drive Works
From July 21 through August 15, we’ll be collecting only new, unused backpacks at our Kennewick and Walla Walla offices during business hours. This effort is powered by the generosity of our staff, clients, and community members. At the conclusion of the campaign, we’ll coordinate with each school district and other student support services to distribute the backpacks directly to the students who need them most.

¿Por qué una colecta de mochilas?

Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar mochilas nuevas y sin usar a estudiantes que, de otra manera, podrían no tener una. Al ofrecer una parte pequeña pero esencial de su kit escolar, esperamos brindarles un mejor comienzo del año – y recordarles que su comunidad los apoya.
¿Cómo funciona la colecta?
Del 21 de julio al 15 de agosto, estaremos recolectando mochilas nuevas y sin usar en nuestras oficinas de Kennewick y Walla Walla durante el horario laboral. Este esfuerzo es posible gracias a la generosidad de nuestro equipo, clientes y miembros de la comunidad. Al finalizar la campaña, coordinaremos con los distritos escolares y otros servicios de apoyo estudiantil para distribuir las mochilas directamente a los estudiantes que más las necesiten.
