Josh Beck

Josh Beck joined the Petersen Hastings team as the Financial Controller in September of 2019. In this role, Josh was primarily responsible for developing and monitoring the firm’s financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure robust financial performance for the firm. In 2022, his role elevated to Director of Administration – expanding his primarily responsibilities from being solely finance-related into other areas, such as managing regulatory and internal compliance, information technology (IT), data analytics, human resources (HR), and office administration. Josh is as enthusiastic as when he joined the firm to continue integrating his financial knowledge and skill set with the rest of the expertise of the Petersen Hastings team to ensure that the historic financial success and legacy of the firm continues to remain strong.

Petersen Hastings’ commitment to financial stewardship for their clients and the firm’s deep roots within the communities they serve attracted Josh into becoming a member of the Petersen Hastings team as these values align closely with his own. Josh’s involvement in the community includes serving as a past-president of the Sunnyside Noon Rotary Club, as a past member of the Credit Union Economics Group, and as the active Treasurer on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee Chair of the Yakima Valley Community Foundation since 2015.

Josh was born and raised in the Lower Yakima Valley of Washington. He graduated from Pacific University (Forest Grove, OR) in 2011 where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and was a captain on the Varsity Football Team. Following graduation, Josh began his career in the financial institution industry where he served as the EVP/CFO of Lower Valley Credit Union (Sunnyside, WA; 2012-2019) prior to joining the firm. Josh has earned numerous certifications in the areas of financial management and compliance, has been quoted and cited in numerous industry publications, and graduated while earnings Honors from the prestigious Western CUNA Management School based at Pomona College (Claremont, CA).

When away from his desk at Petersen Hastings, Josh appreciates his time relishing in all sorts of outdoor activities. He enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, competing in sports, training in karate, and barbequing. Josh has a very close relationship with his family, fiancée, and friends, most of which are conveniently located throughout the Columbia Basin and Yakima Valley.
