Director of Advisor Services

Overview

With a heart of a teacher, Matt is focused on helping people utilize their strengths to achieve their goals. To help others, he naturally brings an organized and methodical approach, blended with compassion and an individual understanding, while also being proactive to potential or current obstacles. As the Director of Advisor Services, Matt’s primary responsibilities include managing the firm’s advisory team, providing service to clients, and acting as a member of both the Petersen Hastings Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Matt joined Petersen Hastings in 1999 and has over two decades of advisory experience, primarily developing and servicing Individuals and Families and Corporate Retirement Plan clients. His career foundation began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Washington State University. He has earned and maintains two professional designations, the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). Furthermore, Matt has served on several national advisor boards where he has acted as a resource and advocate for Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms and client needs.

When Matt is not in the office, you can find him spending time with his family, most often engaged in some outdoor activity or game. He particularly loves playing pickleball with his wife Katie, engaging in fun family board games, working in the yard, and many outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and paddleboarding/kayaking. He also enjoys volunteering as a youth sports coach, teaching Junior Achievement, and supporting other causes.
